International 1466 noise

Hey guys,
A friend of mine and myself just bought a 1466 last week. Was the kind of deal we just couldn't pass for the price. We knew from talking to the previous owner that the tractor hadn't ran for years. According to the previous owner he bought the tractor from the original owner who was using it to pull a combine. The original owner said it developed a loud noise (kind of screeching) in what he thought was the mcv pump. Long story short we bought the tractor knowing this, brought it home and removed the mcv pump and it seems fine from what we can tell. Next thing was the starter seemed to be staying engaged, we have since replaced the started and it seems to have made it more quiet but there is still a loud noise coming from the clutch/mcv area. Having trouble pinpointing exactly where it comes from. Could this be an issue in the clutch, or is this a noise the TA could make as well? Just looking for a few more things that we can possibly check before we decide if we need to split the tractor or not.
Thanks

Does the position of the clutch pedal, engaged or disengaged, have any effect on the noise?

To add to wore out’s questions. Do the hydraulics work, power steering, brakes, moving remote levers change it? Does the 3 point work? Does it move and the gears work?

IF no to used reds questions then you need to remove the bottom cover and look up in there with a light .IF when running the back shaft is not turning it is split time to fix the spline into the back of the pressure plate. DON'T STICK your hand in there the parts will be spinning if running. You will not be able to wiggle any of those parts except maybe the throw out bearing on the shaft a slight bit unless it is shot. IF you still have the screeching and the throw out bearing is still intake try a few squirts of grease in it. I'll bet it has never been greased. Since the cover has to come off to grease it. That is why we drill a hole in the cover and put a line to a bulkhead fitting with a zerk on the bottom so we can grease it without pulling that bottom cover. Did that on our 806,856,and1466. IF not the problem try turning the flywheel over to see what thew teeth look like on it. There may be a bad spot on the ring gear causing it to make noise when trying to start it. And I suppose it could have parts in the MCV stuck from setting causing a relief valve to stick causing a deadheading sort of thing. IT could also if not running be stuck or broken parts in the injection pump. IF the screeching is after it is running look at the turbine in the turbo might be a shot bearing. Or even a bad alternator bearing.

So we finally had time to mess around with the tractor a bit again. The sound does not go away with the clutch depressed or out, we still only ran the tractor for maybe a minute before shutting down but the power steering also did not work. We didn't want to try and move the tractor though.I can't upload a video unfortunately.

To post a video here from most phones it has to be a short segment about 10 seconds long. Otherwise you have to post it on YouTube or Rumble and link it here. I think it may have stripped the live power drive hub in the clutch plate that drives the hydraulic pumps and the PTO. I think you can open the clutch inspection cover on the bottom and see if it is turning.

If there is no power steering remove the cover on the bottom and look up in there you can see if the rear shaft turns when you roll it over with the starter or if there is other problems there at that time. IF the spline is shot which it sounds like it is if you start it again pull one of the remote levers and see if the line tenses or is just dead. See if brakes work also .IF none of these work you can pretty assuredly figure the spline is shot. And if the rear shat in the Pressure plate is not turning or stops when pressure is called for in any of the system it is shot. Can be slpit and back together in a long day. While in ther look at the input shaft to the transmission for worn bearing or parts .There is a difference between the TA and none TA models for the parts at the input shaft one has a different bearing and the one I believe does not have one. Been several years since I have been in there so may not be quite correct on this part. When replacing the parts if you need to pull that front casting in the transmission there be careful not to pry to hard you can break the flange off there. IT will probably be stuck by the o-ring going around the edge of it . It will have 4 to 6 bolts in the casting. Moving it is not really the problem it is the steering it if the spline is shot. The gears will splash enough oil to get it moved for you. As long as you're not planing on driving it miles.
