Hello All I'm new to this site. Need help finding the hydraulic filter on International 2424 tractor? also what type or number is the air filter cross refernce too?

If it has a filter it's in the round cannister below the dash. There's a suction filter on the big line going into the rear hydraulic section. Just slide the hose off, remove the 5/16 bolt and pull it out. Wash it good and put it back. There's also a high pressure filter behind the 1 inch bolt in the front of the hydraulic section just left of center. Clean and reinstall.

Baldwin # PA1644 for a gas engine. No idea about a diesel.

M-Man thanks a ton. I saw that canister and was wondering what it was for, its rather small. Any idea what the baldwin number is on the hydro filter?

Here's a link to a parts catalog on the 2424 diesel. If yours a gasser, look for "Online Parts" at the top of the page, click on CaseIH & enter the model number to change it. That will at least get you the original numbers to cross to whatever brand you like.

2424D Link....

WIX # 51666 for the hydraulic filter. Should have mentioned if oem style it can be cleaned also.
Thx! Your helping me out a ton been very hard to find info on this old thing. It is a gas motor. On another note, can you tell me if hydro/trans oil is good for its tranmission and the PTO hydro? Also, what motor oil would you recommend for 90 degree to 10 below temps? I saw someone on youtube using 5w-10 in a 424 was wondering if sae 30 or 10w30 or 40 would be better?

15-40 diesel grade oil is a good compromise and recommended often on this forum. Jim

I use this for transmission and hydraulics. RK house brand.

I almost exclusively use my 2424 during cool/cold weather months. So for quite a few years I have used 10w/30 oil. No issues doing that at all. Its probably cheaper than the 10W40 options. I can get a gallon on-sale at NAPA for about $18 if I time it right.
