International 986 TA

[IHPRIDE]

I bought a IH 986 about a year and a half ago and the TA handle in the cab is starting to stick and pulls hard? Wanting to know if there is a cable or something that needs lubrication!! Thanks.

My 1486 gets sticky once in a while and I just have to put the straw on a can of penetrating oil and aim it through the slot at the bottom of the handle and spray while work the handle back and forth. Lee

Get 'er lubed up good on both ends like Lee says.

You really don't want the pleasure of having to replace that cable, believe me. It's kind of a pain in the butt.

You can replace the detent link if the roller is worn.The new one is a needle brg inside the roller where the old style link is a roller on a shaft & the roller will wear into the shaft and move hard enough to bend the lever.
