International corn planter

Plate selection depends on the seed. The same variety won't even take the same plate from one year to another due to natural variations in the seed. There is a lot of information on plates in both the Operator's Manual and the Parts Catalog. They are common items so you just need to find the right style plates, even if from some other model planter. If you can't find what you need at a swap meet, Lincoln Ag Products sells new ones made of plastic.

Talk to your Seed Dealer Or it maybe listed on the Seed Bag what size plates to use
Go to the Lincoln / Lustran Web site for size of the corn seed
How many cell plates are you using 16 - 24
Lincoln/Lustran COX-16, COX-24 maybe what you need
I still have some plates left to sell

Modern planters don't use plates, so most seed doesn't come sized anymore. If it doesn't say on the bag what plate to use, you go in your collection of plates and find the one that fits the best, plant a test row, check the population, and switch plates if necessary.

Most of the time we didn't have the recommended plate anyway and made do with whatever we had that was close.
