International Model 16 Plow part.

This is the part that the pull rod pulls on and it lowers the rear tail wheel. 518609 R1. I believe they were also used on the Model 60 and 70 plow. And may be on plows earlier than the Model 16 for all I know. Researching the part number it looks like IH also used them on a hay rake or two. I can't believe how this thing is seemingly so fragile. I don't know why it's weakened like it is with the holes through the side that serve no purpose. Obviously this one is wore out and I don't see how it could be fixed/strengthened by brazing machining etc. I'm not having much luck finding one either. I'll probably make or purchase something else in the meantime that will work until I can find a good one.

Suggest , Bore it out , ream undersize ,press in a dowel pin
or drill and tap for a shoulder bolt

Steve Smith of Republic OH would probably have a good used replacement part. He normally has at least one ad in the marketplace and his number is posted in many threads on this forum.
