Introduction 45 2N

Hi just wanted to introduce myself. My Name is Don Williams I live near Estacada, Oregon.
I just aquired my Fathers 2N he has had the last 23 years. About 5 years ago I did a bunch of work and got it running good for him. And he let it sit another 5 years. This time it is mine, and told me to take it. I put fresh gas and a battery in it and it came right back to life. It has a 60 inch Mott Hammer knife on it. Tractor is pathetically untouched original. Only missing it front grill shell. I am in the market to fix that. Are the new front Grill shells worth it? Quality?

It has one small exhaust gasket leak, I have those gaskets on order. Still has original oil and volt meters on board. Oil pressure is only registering 15 lbs at any speed. No knocks, no smoke. So I am hoping it is either a tired or blocked oil pump or pick up. Or bad guage. I suspect the guage. It runs to good to be tired. The hydro has a very minor leak down and oil is as new takes roughly 30 minutes to leak down. I am hoping to slowly restore this one to as new original it is deserving. The only thing not complete correct is a round coil modification and ignition wires. And I might leave the round coil as they are available everywhere. It is currently in Red/Grey colors. They just look better to me that way and probably will also leave that when I re-store it. I did want to say hi to all, have read every recent post. As soon as I am able I will shoot some pics of this 2N and share them with you.

I am impressed with the Barclay restore. Would like to see some more picures of that tractor. Anyone know what he used for painting the manifold?

Barclays very fine restore! What did he use on that manifold?

Well you can just go over to the other site & ask him . He can be found over on moc.nnalert.www . Now this site has a filter which kicks any other website mentioning out . So I typed it all backwards to see if it goes thru . So read it backwards & check it out . Plus address Don & Derek Barkley about the paint . HTH! God bless

What is b b alert: is that what the forum software puts in place of the offending word? What is the other site? Why all of the secrecy?

Donny.....this 39 was restored by three generations of Barkley's, and now sits in the nnalert showroom. After restoration,I gave it to my grandson,Dusty. It has an aftermarket Sherman aluminum head installed. The head is not painted. The manifold was painted with Eastwood manifold paint as all our restorations are.Any questions, just ask. don b1

Smitty......our host "Yesterdays Tractors" is an "open" bulletin board that doesn't require "registration" in order to post. They have spent years developing a great BBS. The secret word is a competitor's BBS. Why should they support competitors??? And computers are funny, they have set rules of spelling and that makes it eazy to "censor" and also eazy to miss-spell around censored words. This is web-mistress Kim's playbox; her box, her rules. Simple, eh? ......respectfully, Dell

I understand. Just wondered what the "b b alert" thing was. Been seeing it on here for a long time (I think I joined in '02) and have not been able to figure it out.
