My 9N now runs and drives, after months of sitting in the garage as an in-progress project. There is one problem though. It runs great, but is very hard to start. It pops like it wants to start, but takes a few minutes of cranking to finally start. I will get new plugs and wires over the weekend, but I am wondering what could cause this. It has all new wiring, pistons, rings, sleeves, gaskets, and a coil. What could be causing this problem.

Wolfie........classic weak sparkies complaint. Don't see where you replaced yer ignition points. (0.015") even iff'n you did, they gitt INVISIBLE corrosion between the points just setting. Me? I'd remove the weird frontmount dizzy and "polish" the points by pulling a clean $1-bill (cheep) between the points. Iff'n yer really cheap, tear a strip of HEAVY brown paper from grocery sack and pull that.

You do know ittza 2-bolt, 15-min job to remove yer weird frontmount dizzy and check the points (0.015") on the kitchen table, don't you? Just un-snapple yer 4-nipple capple and letter dangle. Installation is a reversal of the removal ...except... finger start the 2-bolts and install yer rotor. Now rotate yer rotor until the OFF-SET tang drops into the OFF-SET slot of yer camshaft. Now tighten yer 2-bolts and re-snapple yer capple. Simple, eh? .......Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Glad to hear you've got it back together!
Double check your firing order. Particularly might have 3&4 reversed on the distributor.
Might also check point gap and make sure you cleaned them well. Lots of posts out here about the invisible film on new points.
Bruce has a really great troubleshooting post to follow on this type of problem, you could look for that if he doesn't chime in.
