Neat ol truck, We had one on the farm back in the 50s. It's from a 38 to 47 vintage depending on the grill. 38/39 had oval grills. 38 had a V8 on the top center while the 39 had a single stainless strip running vertically. 38 had mechanical brakes. 40 thru 47 had the ugly ol waterfall grill. What a hot, cramped ride that was. Knees around your chin, the engine doghouse keeping you from moving your legs. I loved it. LarryThought you might like this old truck
I am thinking 1945,6,7 FordThought you might like this old truck
Was it a tilt over cab like the IH cabover OTR cabs, or the Ford bobtail truck cab? I had both of those and servicing was a pain as everything in the cab wound up on the windshield when tilted for servicing/maintenance.Used to drive one like that in early 50s.
Is there a engine behind the radiator?Thought you might like this old truck
I think your right.I am thinking 1945,6,7 Ford
On the 1950's Chevy Cab Overs, my Dad dropped & replaced the engines out the bottom using a 4X4 across door openings and chain hoist.....no tilt cab. Even saw him do it on side of highway once. Hard life. Was it a tilt over cab like the IH cabover OTR cabs, or the Ford bobtail truck cab? I had both of those and servicing was a pain as everything in the cab wound up on the windshield when tilted for servicing/maintenance.
Didn't realize they recycled that cab for a decade. Guess the only thing changed was the grill.I am thinking 1945,6,7 Ford
