CAN anyone share any info. about these backhoes.
Looking at a 215 S---Haven't seen in person yet.
Are they foreign made??? Dependable--parts difficult to get. Dealers in Michigan????
Thanks for any help.

There are certainly better choices..About all I have to say. Resale is bad and about ever one in this area that have tried them seem to end up going back to Case,Cat Deer ect.

One thing I can share.....have been around a few in my day...the rear wheel mounting lacks a number of mounting bolts and will have a tendency to tear up rear rims unless the bolts are torqued every 20 hours or so.......they come from Britain and dealer support in upstate New York was not anything to make any company proud. The problems didn't stop with the wheels either! They were low bid and I totally see why. We always had pretty good luck with Case, and John Deere, and the latest batch bought were Cats...Cat had the best dealer service while under warranty..they would come out within 24 hours..if parts were needed, they were usually obtained within 24 hours and they would be back out to repair the issue..just my 2 cents!

I have a JCB. The thing is a beast. That said parts are a nightmare. WIring is nothing to brag about. When I'm ready to get rid of this one it will be a Deere or a Case that replaces it.

AIS is probably it for michigan dealers, that's where mine came from. i bought mine used, owned it for two weeks and found a chance to unload it.
it sold at auction, and there were people from all over to bid on it, so someone must like them.i replaced it with a deere and would recommend deere or case. -john-

And it is the other way round over here! That seems to be the trend with all vechicles....We don't rate American made stuff too highly and vice-versa. I have never heard of any continuing problems with JCB rubber wheel diggers and Europe is full of them. Probably better to buy something that has a good parts backup in your area.

A friend had one at my place for several years. The back how could slide to the side. I was on a little bit of a slop, and had dug out a rock with the loader. Had the loader up about half way and the front wheel went into the hole, and the locks kicked out, and the hoe slide to the down hill side, and over I went. Heavy duty hoe, moved a lot of rock with it.

Just my two cents... AIS is who supports JCB and what I would like to say about them I really can't on this board. I would avoid them. One of my buddies is a mechanic there he will tell you the same thing. Other buddy works for Michigan CAT. They appear to be a lot better managed and more importantly, honest. Ended up with a case 580 in the end. After dealing with AIS my next dozer will be a CAT, and if the case ever wears out the next hoe will be a CAT too. Won't even consider a Deere until someone other than AIS is in Michigan.

There's nothing wrong with the machine. It's on par with anything else. No idea what service is like in your area. Around here it's decent enough. There's a LOT of the machines around anyway.

They are the worst machines I've operated. JCB manufactures the most rubber tire backhoes in the world, at least they did a few years ago. Highly thought of almost anywhere they are sold except North America. I think the ones shipped here are not the same as the rest. I ran a brand new one a couple of years ago. Hydraulic oil leaking from every fitting, lacked power, poorly assembled, reminded me of what we call up here "off shore" quality. You couldn't pay me to own one. Others may think differently.
