Hello, I got a chance to buy a 1020 in decent condition, engine turns over but will not start. Is the 1020 a good series?is this machine worth messing with? What would be a fair price to pay? thanks as always Larry

In my opinion, one of the best small utility tractors Deere ever made. They bring well over $4000 in my area if in relatively good shape. That with power steering and live PTO. All have power brakes. Not all came with PS or live power though. 820, 830, 1020, and 300 industrial are all very similar tractors. 820s and 830s have some not-so-common hydraulics. 1020s have German pumps and closed-center hydraulics. 300s often have the bigger USA pumps and closed-center hydraulics.

Any pics? Look up serial # from this site and see what year it is. Is it gas? What are they asking for it? What options does it have?

Bought one new in 67, sold it in 86 and sick from that day until this spring I found another one. I think they are the best all around tractor JD ever built. I have had any trouble getting parts and clip a couple acres everytime I cut the yard just to get to drive it. Both of mine was/is a diesel. No experience with a gas burner. Good luck if you decide to purchase it. Harley
