Jd 1380 oil

Just started cutting with my jd 1380 swinging haybine with the hydraulic pto. Severed that small hose that goes to the pump, and dumped all the oil out. Wondering what oil it takes, and if the pump should be okay, it made noise for about 30 seconds then quit cutting for 5 seconds before I cut the power to it. No oil left, and found the broken hose

A small line on a hydrostatic pump or motor may be a case drain line. Drain lines are often located near the shaft end of the case.

Would hygard work? I saw a couple guys mention using that

Yes Hy-Gard will be fine but probably cost more $$$$$$ than oil oils

You can confirm that with your dealer, I think they have a Hydrostatic fluid now they use in skid steers, they might recommend.
