jd 2010 no reverse

for the last two years I could only access half the forward gears on my 2010. 1st, 3rd,
5th and 7th could not be selected. The other forward gears, reverse and park were ok.
recently reverse became a problem and taking the advise I got from this forum, I removed
the transmission cover. I don't see any obvious problems. With the linkage attached or
unattached, I can access the forward gears but still no reverse. For some reason, 1st, 3rd
5th and 7th can now be accessed. from what I can see of the range change shifter cam and
related components, nothing seems out of the ordinary. is there anything else I can look for
or try to do before I put it back together and try to find someone who can split it?

Linkage, Shifting Forks, and Syncronizers....Somehere in these three compoents, if not all of these componets is your problem. After all, this tractor is 50+ years old and there worn out.

You really can not see the actual problem with out pulling the top shaft, the part that failed is deep inside the collars, they get 'dubbed' off and will not connect...
