i'am new to site and new to owning a tractor. bought a 1962 jd 2010. off craig's list. listing described tractor as in great shape mechanically etc. here's my problem, i get it home and the front loader works fine, but the 3 pt hitch doen"t work at all. i contacted seller and he explains that i have to reroute hyd hoses to the loader port to the 3pt port in order for the 3pt to work. of course this was not mentioned when buying the tractor. anyway this makes no sense to me, i have a manual and it's clear that the front loader and the 3 pt hitch should both work independently of each other. if there is anyone out there who is really familar with hyd on a jd 2010 please reply and let me know what i have to do to correct this problem. other than this fault, tractor is in grea shape, new tires etc. , but i bought the tractor specifically to use a bush hog, so i need the 3 pt hitch to work. please help.

Sounds as if the loader hyd valve is plumbed in parallel with the 3 pt valve instead of in series. Can you post a photo of the loader hyd's where they attach to tractor?

You either need to have photo downloaded on your computer or use something such as Photo bucket. I use Modern view on this forum and below the submit button is a box with "choose files". I click "choose files" then highlight downloaded photo and wal-la photo is attached. Here's a parts photo of 2010 rockshaft housing.

Garrey's photos. As I told you on the phone with the return dumping to sump the rockshaft is ultimately bypassed and that's the reason it won't work.
