JD 2350 steering pump issue

After replacing the steering hand pump and lines on the 2350 due to a leak, the steering seems fine but slightly overloaded and loose. The 3-point and bucket fail to operate unless the steering wheel is moved back and forth, after which they function properly. Could it be possible that the "NEW" pump is faulty? The lines were also replaced with new ones. All filters and valves on the 2350 that I could locate have been cleaned. What could be the issue?

The JD 2350 steering pump is a AT61108. So you believe I got a new "bad" pump? This particular 2350 has the valve that attaches to the pump, not directly hosed. I cleaned the "valve", but it is more of a port block to direct flow, not actually piloting any valve per say. My next move is to directly hose to the pump to eliminate the valve from the system as some 2350 schematics show. It it continues I guess Im in another 1K for a pump.

I failed to mention a detail. When the tractor is running, and you turn the steering wheel, energizing the pump, both the bucket and the draft will begin to work immediately. It would appear no oil is making it's way thru the valve/pump until you turn the wheel. Pump?

Is this what you are working with ?
So, in your view, should I disassemble the pump to see if the seals are blown or dislocated in some way?

It a steering control valve , it is not a pump .
No oil should flow in or out of it until the steering wheel is turned . This is a closed
Centre , not an open centre system .
Odds are the steering valve has failed and is diverting the front pump’s high pressure output to the transmission sump . Leaving insufficient oil pressure and volume to operate the rockshaft , SCV and loader .
btw , how are the loader hydraulics connected to the tractor ? What kind
Of valves ?
Some loader systems are incorrectly setup to take the oil from and return to the SCV . This causes the front pump to cavitate as the transmission pump can not keep up with sustained high flow loads .

Mona no and no . That is not how the system works .

I suggest your return the faulty power steering valve & install a functional steering valve. I've heard later styled steering valves such as yours referred to as a pump but I never understood why the term pump was used for a control valve.

Power steering valve routes high pressure oil through gallies to move frt hyd cylinder or cylinders to move front tires in direction intended.

Which one is the supply? There are two that come from the hyd pump in front underneath the battery. Step side or opposite?

One of the loader hoses comes off of a port on the priority valve, the other the bottom port in the main filter housing bellow. All was well 20 years, until the steering valve seal blew out of the top. Replaced hoses and valve, have this issue.....other than a flat tire now.
Are you SURE all hoses to the steering valve are connected correctly?
