JD 2440 hydraulic screen removal

Hi mechanics! Anyone have a tip on how to remove the hydraulic filter screen on a JD 2440? I can wiggle it, but it doesn't want to turn loose. I'm trying not to damage it.

Its not threaded in, it just pushes in, pull harder.

Yank it out, - pull hard, - whatever it takes. New ones aren't that expensive if you ruin it.

Success! Thanks J.D.Dave and Jim ME. I used a hooked machinist's pick and got hold of the screen just behind the first ferrule. I did have to pull hard, as you suggested; so hard that I think the left rear axle is now about an inch shorter, but the screen finally came out little-by-little. It was gunked up pretty thick, which is obviously why it was stuck. I didn't damage it, so I'll give it a good cleaning.
