JD 2450

Anyone running a 2450? i found a good buy on one. I don"t think i have ever looked at a 2450, what is the story - made in Germany? good power-75hp or so? Asking around her ein east tn, this seems to be an oddball model...

The big issue is that it was built for a market area other than the US. It may be very simular to a 2550 or a 2750, but you may run into some parts that aren't available in the US. For example I was told that one of the planetaries in a 4450 powershift European, wasn't available in North America, and had to be shipped from Europe. So you may not be able to get used parts or even new parts in a timely fashion from Deere. I was looking at some Euro Row crop tractors and was told a few stories by a local tech, about problems he had run into. He advised to stick with tractors that were intended to be sold here in the US. I am sure that they are good tractors, but there is a reason that they are cheaper. Even if they have less hours and brand new paint.

According to JDparts.com some of the 2450's were built in Spain and I think the European models in Germany. It should state on SN tag where it was built. The European models lists collar shift or Syncro transmissions

Kinda what I thought. none for sale on tractorhouse or fastline....

Guees I will keep hunting for a 23/25/27 series to replace my 2020. thanks for the info
