JD 2640 tractor value

My friend is retiring from hobby farming and is selling his tractor, it's a 1980 JD 2640, in nice shape, always stored inside, but I'm not sure about the hours, but I imagine low, I will check on that. It has only been used for occasional garden work and some bush hogging for the last 20 years. Any idea what it's worth? In extreme N MN. Thanks for looking!

Around here 7k-15k depending on condition and options such as a loader,hi-lo trans,rollguard etc.Hours and condition are the main factors determining value.

That is a 70 HP + - tractor. It depends? In S MN at auction maybe 8K-10K.. A good tractor for that horsepower.

Two comments- if you do peruse tractorhouse, knock off about 20% of what you see. #2- In my area that would be a very desired tractor. there are many hobby farmers that would like a tractor of that size. and you would have no trouble selling it. I wonder about the market for that tractor in extreme northern MN? Lots of hobby farmers around? If not, your valuation should be on the low end.
