JD 290 planter question

I"m looking to plant a population of 30,000/acre field corn in 32" rows would I use a 16 cell plate or 24 cell plate and what settings would I need on the planter.

For the population you want in 32" rows it looks like you need a seed spacing of appox. 6.5". Don"t forget to allow for your germination and emergence rates (rule of thumb: 90% each). The chart in your JD planter manual with tell you the plate/planter setting combination you need to get a 6.5” spacing.

Since you are asking this question,its obvious you dont have a book.Buy one.Your JD dealer can get reprints for just about any JD item

I actually do have the O/M it was not clear to me and I need to have everything that is needed as my farm is 275 miles away
