JD 2950 hydraulic problems.

Welcome to the forums.

The first questions you need to answer for us:

How long have you had this tractor?

What manuals do you have for this tractor?

Are you using Hy-Gard or an aftermarket UTHF saying it meets the JD J20C spec?

When was the suction screen last cleaned?

When was the hydraulic filter last changed?

If you haven't cleaned the screen it needs to be pulled checked and cleaned. Report back what was found on it. Change the hydraulic filter. Refill with Hy-Gard or aftermarket UTHF meeting J20C requirements.

Best to check the screen and filter first, before saying the pump is failing. If the suction screen is plugged it will starve the transmission pump.
DITTO I suggest performing good hyd diagnostic procedures which includes changing hyd filter & checking/cleaning hyd oil suction screen, checking hyd pressures before entertaining the thought of changing a hyd pump or hyd component.

Congratulations on your successful repair! Thank you for updating your thread which only a small amount of posters take the time to post their repair results.

Great advice! Changed the hydraulic filter, checked screen (clean), changed fluid and I am back in action! THanks for the input!!!!
Was there anything obvious in the hydraulic screen and/or filter ? Can be an early warning of wet clutch fibre or wet break fibre deterioration.
