Working on a '50 A and a '46 H. Ready to put on the main decals on the hood. Does the main decal get centered on the hoods of each of these models or do they get offset one way or another??? Thank You

The Model A should be 2" back from the front edge of the hood. The H is probably centered. Someone will step up and tell you for sure.

The (A) hood decal should have MADE IN USA printed on the bottom of the radius or it is not the correct one. K&K makes the correct one, JORDE does not.

The '50 "A" "John Deere" decal goes towards the front. First letter starting from the front will be 2" back from the rear edge of grill.Kind of like the pic of my B. The '46 should be centered on hood. Also , just for reference, my decals came from Jordes and the "B" does have the printed in USA on them.Call him and ask. I'd still use him. They changed the big decal because they changed the location of the shutter linkeage anchor point and subsequent two rivets so they were located higher so the decal could move towards the front further without having to be applied over the rivet heads. Good rule of thumb would be, if the rivets are in the "wide" decal area of the hood then you need to put the decal back in center or it would be going over the rivets. If rivets are higher, up out of the main flat , then decal goes to the front. From what I've read and seen, the A,s did the same as the B,s.

The decals I have received from Travis for an A were correct. The ones I have seen from the other company were not. The general shape of the letters is never quite right with the other company. They are easy to spot. You don't have to get close enough to read "Made In USA" to see it, either. Mike

Very nice "B"..!

Looks like mine (Mon's?)..!
I changed rear rims and tires last year..
I went to JD "A" 11" rims and Firestone 13.6x38" Deep-Tread tires...
I was always running out of traction, pushing dirt of snow, but much improved now..!
Almost looks like an "A", now..!
Ron.

If your A is a square axle with straight 6 speed shift quadrant then I'd say the decal goes towards the front of the hood.

H gets centered

Thanks, Ron, I bet it does make it look a lot more aggressive too. I,m looking forward to finishing up resto of my 2 row cultivators so can get some real world corn field and barn photos, maybe even get one in Green Magazine.

In reference to two cylinder's article, I have a 49 B with round axle housing and hood decal's in the forward position.
