JD 3010 CLUTCH

I have a 3010 with the dual clutch. Maybe they are all like that? I had the flywheel turned, I replaced the pressure plate assy with the new friction disc. I installed the pressure plate assy to the flyheel, with the alignment tool. It seems like the friction disc for the pto is not clamped in tight? I can wiggle the alignment tool and see the friction disc move? Someone said when you engage the pto lever it clamps down to power the pto? so this means the whole time you are using the tractor with the pto the throw out bearing is revolving like when you push the clutch in? Just wanted to be sure before I bolt this thing back together. Thanks

I can't tell you for sure, but likely that is the case. Many thrust bearings are used that way, The mechanical TA in Farmalls has one running when the lever is pulled. Mine has never been split, and used 40% of the time. Jim

Also, it's CRITICAL that the outer face of the flywheel was ground, as well, to keep the "step height" at the correct dimension.

HOPEFULLY, the shop that ground it was aware of this and knew the "spec.", which (IIRC) is 2.844".

Thanks for the replies. I have the tool for adjusting the fingers. I am however going to take it apart and check the step height. I am unsure if this wes done or not
