JD 3020 throttle knob - What does it do?

Pull it out as applying throttle, should allow you to increase rpm from where it normally stops if I recall from yhe early 70’s when I ran a 4020 in high school working for a farmer

Throttle knob has 2 different stops on diesel powered tractors. Upper stop which is set at 600-800 engine idle speed rpm's is overridden by pulling knob when pushing throttle handle up to shut off fuel in inj pump to stop engine from operating. 2nd lower stop is for pto speed which IIRC is 2100 rpm's. Knob can be pulled out to lower throttle handle for engine transport speed of 2400 rpm's
