Hello,
I have a 2013 JD 3038E. I bought new and use it primarily at our hunting property. The 3 point lift lever won't stay in any position other than down or all the way up, which has a latch. Any input would be appreciated. John

I just started pricing 3038 tractors. E is the economy model. It has no position control. I was not told that it was only up or down, but that you would need to "search" for the proper position each time you raise or lower the 3 point. There might be and adjustment that will help you, but this is one of the differences between the E and R series.

This is a new development with the 3 point lift. I was told that E meant gas gage was a simple float, roll bar did not fold and loader was bolted on and not easily removed. I can tell you that the front wheel bearing seals are a problem on these models. I have purchased the service manual and I have changed out the seals once already. Thanks for the reply.

Welcome to the forums.

Tagging on to an old post generally does not work out the best, especially when the post topic is not about the same problem you have, even if the tractor model might be the same. The guys that posted in this thread have not posted for several years.

It is best if you start a new thread of your own. Give all the details and history of your tractor. Things like model, engine, fuel, and a good description of the issue. Also tell if you have had it a while and the problem just started or did you just purchase it in this condition. If you have had it a while when were things like the fuel and air filters serviced last? Any maintenance or repair work done recently.

The more detail you can give the sooner people can narrow in on possible causes. Do you have the Operator's and Technical manuals for it?
