jd 3155 hyd

had a 3155 lose all hyd the other day,brought to shop checked filter and screen they were clean,removed front pump drive shaft and checked splines,they were ok,could spin pump by hand very easily,like pistons were not contacting the cam.starte tractor to move it off the steam rack and checked pump again and felt resistance in pump put shaft back on and hyd now function normally.Anyone ever run across this before?

Had a 3155 That lost hydraulics and kicked its self int 4WD when it got warm. Turns out all of the seals in the trans were leaking so bad it couldent build pressure. The thing was a turd.

It's possible the stroke control briefly quit seating therefore sending hyd pump out if stroke thus stopping pumping of oil. When hyds quit would tractor still pull itself? How many hrs on speed/hr meter?

tractor has about 4000 hrs.drove tractor on trailer no problem. ran hyd thru flow meter got 23 gpm out the remotes.2000 psi.got oil warmed up,160 degrees everything works fine right now.

2000 psi is a little low as it should be 2250 psi. I'll bet something got into stroke control valve which de-stroked pump.
