JD 350B Front Crossbar Removal

I would like to remove my front crossbar to repair the wallowed out holes. How big of a job and how long for an average wrench to get it out.

Thanks

I've done a few and it's an awful job.

That being said, they rarely get removed just to built up those worn-out "float-holes." During slow time in the winter, building up worn crossbars and track frames on 350s was our most common (and boring) job.

The only time we removed crossbars, was to replace with new after somebody tried to weld the old one fast to the track frame.

1010s and early 350s did not float. But, 350Bs and 350Cs were designed to wobble and float to prevent cracking. I wish Deere had offered a "rough ground" option instead, with some sort of spring suspension like AC, Oliver, and CAT did.

We built up the crossbars, in place with 7018 rod and it worked well enough. Same with the rear round cross tube-axle that will also need building up.
