Jd 4010 throttle not responding

I have an older 4010 diesel that for all intensive purposes runs great but yesterday it started not responding to throttle command if I reved it up it may go half way or if I slowed it down it would still be at a higher idle. Not it is at a normal idle and will not advance to a higher RPM but idles beautifully. Just looking for advice where to start at when I dig into this

You can check the linkage from the throttle handlle to the pump to see what may be loose but I would put money on the injection pump needing to be gone through. Some guys feel comfortable working on the Roosa Master pumps and some guys just send them to a shop.

This common symptom is caused by a clogged return line from the injection pump and indicates debris in the pump. It's time for a pump rebuild.
