JD 4020 third scv

I want to add a third scv to my 71 4020 powershift. I should be able to get the parts through a salvage yard I'm thinking but I'm under the impression that the original kit from JD to add a third scv came with a stencil to show you where on the rockshaft cover you need to cut the hole for access to the scv. I'm sure you could just eye it and cut a hole but since I'm fixing the tractor up I want to do it correct and nice and neat. Does anyone know where I might find one of these stencils to cut the correct size of hole? Thanks!

I think it took a different rockshaft cover with it already cut out I'm thinking? Not sure but the ones I've seen are nicely done, not all cut up and added.

It seems the ones I have had actually had a triangular hole that was pressed with edges the same as a muffler.I have also seen many hatchet jobs. The tractors with cabs had no rock shaft covers but I will see if I can remember who has one.I just sold a third valve but no cover.

I have a late 3020 diesel syncro that has a third
outlet on it. I think these were a kit that the
dealer but on. I don't know about the stencil but
with few measurements you could get it
as good as a stencil. I never saw a tractor with a
knock out for the couplers. The little levers
that that open the balls are different than the
ones on #1 and #2 coupler.

Jdavid you are correct the scv had different levers on bottom of scv as the bottom of rockshaft cover should go around box leaving no room as the bottom scvs are open.If I get a chance I will take one off and make a diagram. The hole just fits and shouldn't be a problem to recreate

My paint guy has a template made from an original
factory 3 valve cover. I'll be at his shop on mon
if you still need it

Levers are in same place on scv ; just a dif. bend to handles , so they can be 1/4 turned , and not interfere with cover... see pic.

Long green Line you are right it wasn't pressed when I looked at one.I always look at hoods on nice tractors to make sure it has correct rounded edge. The 3 scv set up I looked at was from factory and was identicle to your photo.I actually thought they were cut closer to scv box but they weren't.
