jd 420 dozer

just got a jd 420 dozer 1959 haveing probs with
steering it dont steer hardly at all in forward but
does steer somewhat in reverse what should i do?

This could just need clutch and brake adjustment,,,or replaced, try to get a manual and refresh your self with the operation and adjustments, there is an inspection cover on top of the final drive to get to the adjustments, the clutch should release a bit "before" the brake band applys.

thanks alot we have manual im a logger but not to mechanically inclined im hoping its just and adjustment because im not sure we could take on replacing something like that
