JD 4320 Powershift

[Rock bottom dollar]

What's the deal with the 4320 powershift on tractorhouse? Is it a experimental tractor? I thought all of those didn't get a serial #? Could it be a late 4020 powershift rear end bolted up to a 4320?

My guess it is one of the newer compacts that have same number.They show up on same pege on E-Bay and Tractor House.

I didn't see the ad but tractors are misrepresented in ads all the time. Without seeing photo it could be as simple as transposing model numbers from a 4230.

I'm sure a PS trans could be bolted to a 4320 engine. As far as I know no experimental 4320's were built.

My dad bought a new 4520 with a powershift,it's still in the neighborhood.

When the 4320 was introduced. Deere had the design
work pretty much done for the soon to arrive 4430.
Wasn't worth the cost of tooling for just a couple
for years.
I was under the impression however the 4430 is
pretty much a 4320 with a sound guard body and more
transmission choices?

Not exactly as 4320 is 116 pto hp vs 4430 is 125 pto hp. 4320 has Roosa-master inj pump vs 4430 has Bosch inj pump with an aneroid. Different engine blocks. 4320 had older style New Generation sheet metal & frt axle vs 4430 Newer Generation sheet metal & beefer frt axle. This just a few differences that come to mind.

JD 4520's came in PS or synro-range but 4320's only synro-range.

Sheet metal is a given, didn't think It was worth mention. Still 404 cu" displacement. Some final drive components will mix and match across the late 4020,4320,4230,4430,4240,4440.

The only thing I can think of that might interchange is the fuel cap, SCV, and front and rear rims.....Maybe a couple gears too.....?? Pretty different.

FYI 4320 had an engine oil cooler(part # AR51518) on RH side of the block similar to a late model 4020 and 4430 engine oil cooler(part # AR55394) fits in the LH side of the block. Not all 404 cid engines are alike.

I suppose your are correct they both have a ring & pinion just not the samebut a 2010 has a R&P also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were 4 powershift 4320's made, as expierimental tractors.. ends up 4 people have them in the country, and the guy on tractor house is kind of dumb for selling his! Rare tractor and obviously in mint condition! Big racked Deere!
