Neighbors got one that has been running hot. It has about 3000 hours orig., radiator boiled out last year, new water pump, no bubbles inside radiator. It runs hotter the higher the RPMS go loaded or not. You can run most of the day pulling a hay rake as long as you don't go over half throttle, same with a baler or 12 foot offset harrow. any ideas

I would check the thermostat and make sure the fins are clean on the radiator, and on the condenser and oil cooler. If there are any oil leaks on the hoses going to or from the oil lines up front they may leak and cuase a dirt build up on the radiator/oil cooler/condeser.

T- stat not opening clear up, or water pump would be my first guess. Good luck Brent.

We had one that would do that. The impeller on the water pump went bad and was slipping.

Check everything others have suggested first. If you still have problems chech for air in the cooling system. Air is a terrible conductor of heat compared to coolant.

Is it actually running hot, or is the gauge just showing hot...check engine temp with a temp gun to see just how hot it really is. Thermostats or slipping belts or air restriction are possible causes if it IS hot. If not...bad gauge or most likely bad sensor. Take wire off sensor and ground it to make sure gauge is working properly...you"ll have to have someone in the cab with the key on to watch the gauge.

I definetly know that it is running hot, have not had a chance to go look at it today. The radiator fins, condensor, and oil cooler are not clogged at all. Just kinda strange that running 5 miles full throttle or close to it and it showing hot and running it half throttle everything is cool. Will check out tomorrow and update

Is the bottom radiator hose hot when the engine is "hot". If hose is cool there is no or little circulation. Bottom hose should only be a little cooler than the top hose normally.

Temperature indicators that are out of calibration are very common. And indicating too cool is just as common as indicating too hot.
As previously stated unless the temp has been verified, the gauge alone is just a reference.
Oil in the coolant system and I mean any oil is a thermal insulator. The data is around here somewhere but as lose of 20,30 even 40% due to oil.
Odds are there is slippage and loss of fan/pump rpm due to worn pulleys and belts. The pulleys may drive at low to mid rpms but slip at high rpms.

I too would say check pulleys and belts. If the pulleys are are wore you will never get the belts tight enough to not slip if the belts go to the bottom of the pulleys. Then if you stand beside you mite even here the fan slow down. If the pulleys do not have a true v in them it is time for new pulleys and belts.
