Jd 46 b steering

I replaced the 2 cone bearings 1 on the steering shaft 1 on the worm gear put grease in it and it still wobbles. It will not wobble if you have pressure on the steering gear (or the 1/4gear as I have also heard it called) on this model there are no adjustments on the steering pedestal. Are there other bearings that I am not aware of. If so could someone provide a exploded diagram of what I am not seeing. Thank you

Bushing 21 or wear on the vertical shaft itself where that bushing rides. Or the gear teeth or worm are worn.

You need to adjust the eccentric bushing at the top under the sector gear. Take out the set screw and rotate it one at a time to tighten the clearance. Problem is if it's worn too badly taking out the slop will cause it to bind at the extreme ends of turns.
