JD 4650 powershift

Have a 4650 15 speed powershift that when you first start it and shift into gear it may hesitate for 15-30 seconds before it takes off. Sometimes if you try and start out say in 6th it may not move, you might shift to 9th and it will try to move but will not, then shift back to 6th and will move fine. Once it does start to move it shifts fine and will pull good not slip a bit. Does not do it every time and does not matter hot or cold weather.

How long since hyd filters were changed & sump screen checked/cleaned? I'd suggest to check trans pump pressure which should be around 150 psi. Slow trans engagement could be worn trans shift valve linkage.

I agree with Jim,, It sounds like it's starving for oil a bit, then once it gets oil it's fine, the sump screen is behind the large pipe on the left side,, kinda ornery to get out you will need to remove the 3 bolts holding the elbow to the manifold up front.
