JD #5 sicle mower

[Tractor Shed Billy]

I have a classic John Deer #5 sicle mower in excellent condition, original paint and decals, 7 foot bar. I'm going to sell it. Any idea what I should ask for it?

Eastern Tennessee; one I got for 250 one I got (the better one, really) for 150. They both were working mowers, the 250 dollar one was beat all to heck and the cheaper one was a pristine original with the cylinder even. I guess I am living proof that it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

In NE Texas you could probably ask $150-$300 depending on condition.

If 'Clinton' were for sale, I would ask $100.

If my working mower were for sale, I would ask $250 with foot lever and pto guard included.

Thanks for the pictures and information. I'm gonna ask $250 and see if I get any takers. This mower had been hooked up to a Farmall B and used very little over the last 20 years or so, mostly for mowing the road ditch and clipping pasture - kept under shed. It doesn't look as good as yours though.
