JD 50 Carb Issue

I m having an issue getting fuel to the carb bowl on a 50 tractor and can t get it started. I recently put new gaskets in the automatic sediment bowl and it seems to be working correctly as there is fuel shooting out of the line when the engine turns over. After opening the drain on the carb bowl, nothing came out so I assume the needle is stuck in the seat? I don t see anything blocking the fuel inlet to the carb and when I tried spraying carb cleaner into the inlet, it comes back out. Thanks in advance for your help.

What about the cleanliness of the sediment chamber
and the sediment filter on the carb?
The sediment filter is made part of the big brass nut
just above the gasoline inlet line connection.
The sediment drain plug is just below the gas inlet fitting.

Hi,

I bought a 7 back in January. First thing I did is rebuild the carb. The inlet screen in the carb was full of rust and junk to the point the screen had ripped. I found a new one at New Paris Equipment in Indiana. They have a lot of used items along with some new. I bought a square tube wide front from them for the tractor too. I also installed a screen on the inlet to the sediment bowl as I think it had some leaves or something in there that float over inlet and can't get out. Runs like a champ now!!
