JD 520 Radiator Rebuild

Getting ready to rebuild the radiator in my JD 520. Not finding specifics in my I&T Manual. What is a good sealant to use on the cork gaskets and is there specific torque values for the various bolts used during reassembly? Thank you in advance!

I have always used paper gaskets and #2 Permatex. And a little less than spec for a normal bolt, try and hand tighten then check with torque wrench, like 15 ft/lb on 5/16, and 30 ft/lb on 3/8.

Same here---LOTS of Permatex. Cork gaskets will deteriorate when used to seal water. For torques, I just check the Fastenal torque chart for whatever size/grade bolt I am using, and set the torque a few pounds lower than the maximum specified torque.

Thank you for your advice. With all the work it took to get the radiator out and cleaned up, I just want it not to leak after it goes back together!
