I am looking at buying a John Deere 520. The engine is pretty weak, It has the factory 3 point hitch and the price is not bad. I was planning on overhauling it. Are main bearings for this tractor still available?

100% certain the cam and followers are worn too. No way the engine can make rated power again unless the cam and followers re re-ground .
LP pistons cost the same as gas so may as well install them instead . If the manifolds are rotten, install LP manifolds instead. Any wobble in the distributer bushings will make the spark timing vary .
