jd 5325/5425 comments requested

Anyone here know anything about these tractors good, bad etc.
I've checked the archives and most comments are quite old. Thanks.

I have a 5325, I think it's a great little tractor. Mine is 4wd with a loader. It is by far the most used tractor on the farm. I don't like buying hydraulic filters from Deere. Haven't found them anywhere else. 3 minor repairs I can think of, nothing over $80, in 6 years.

hello, just MY experience with these models.. 5225 & 5325 have that 5 cylinder engine that don't have as good a reputation as the 4.5 liter REAL DEERE engine in the 5425 & 5525. i've seen some problems with the "5" cylinder

Everyone I know who has had one, has replaced the clutch about every 1500 to 1600 hrs. I talked to one guy who was trading for a new tractor, called the John Deere dealer about trading. They came to look at it and the first thing they checked was the clutch, which was bad, they wouldn't give him what it should have been worth. He then called the CaseIH dealer and they made a better offer, so he got the CaseIH. That tells me that Deere knows they have a problem. this tractor had 3100 hrs and was due for it's second clutch.

I have changed a lot of clutches in them,, mostly because the adjustment was not kept up on them..and it is a weak link in them..
