The drive disc (clutch plate) takes a beating with the fore/aft torq applied as you shuttle shift, this is not actualy a 'clutch', but more like a torsion dampner.
 
That could be from the torsion dampner in the drive disc rattleing, the ones that I have seen fail, the springs got hammered apart. The shuttle shift works on that part hard...but it is a nice option with a loader..
