JD 60 hyd question

I bought a Kuhn 108 speed rake, (hay rake) instruction say to use a tractor that has float mode in the rear remotes. My 5303 does, but will my 60"s hyd work that way?

Seems to me, if the power-trol lever is left in the rearward (down) position , you have float mode. Works that way on mine. HTH

We need some details.

I am NOT sure if that works with a remote cyl. But it does work on a back blade. Seems like it should be the same deal. I'm saying; when the power-trol lever is in the rear detent position, it floats. Got the info on this site a couple of years ago, tried it AND it works ! HPH

If memory serves, those power trols had an adjustment to run a one way cylinder. If set for one way operation, the system would offer a float, right?

Bob is right , Power-Trol will stay in full detent position, As it says in operators manual:(5) Fast drop, Rockshaft operation,..... Power-Trol works same way with 2 hose remote cyl. attached to side plugs (right side) hyd. box. one hose pressure to lift cyl. load.. other hose constant neutral oil, to keep enough oil in power-trol system. Same thing, side plugs are used for cyl.'s on 45 loader ; allowing a float position , 45 loaders are NOT to be used with two way (Down) pressure...

I'm still with you guys on this, the rake has 2 way cyls, manual says to lower rake wheels till over center, then switch to float mode, and let them settle to the ground, and keep it in float while raking. I was playing with it hooked to the 5303, pushing the control lever forward feels like a detent, the 60 has detent both ways. Would like to use it or either of the A's, but don't want to damage the rake.

(quoted from post at 09:23:44 03/22/14) There absolutely IS SO a float. I use it on my 3 point & on my implements with a 2-way cylinder DAILY.

Float on the rockshaft and float on a single hose one hydraulic cylinder.
A typical two hose hydraulic cylinder has no float on a two cylinder Deere.
We run two hoses on every hydraulic cylinder here when possible to maintain the oil reservoir level.
