JD 60 power steering leak

Hello all

The front lower seal of my power steering is leaking to
the point it HAS to be fixed.

So

1. Can this be replaced without pulling the pedestal?

I assume NO.

2. Is there a COMPLETE gasket seal kit for this project ?

3. Any traps or tricky spots I need to be aware of

4. Has there been a detailed rebuild posted on here that I
could refer too

5. Thank you for any help in this repair

It is appreciated

The steering pedestal has to be COMPLETELY disassembled to replace that seal (actually an O-ring and backup washer).

Those parts are the last to come out and the first to be replaced when going back together.

The last I checked, DEERE still had all the seals available, but not in a ''kit''.

Look on the 'net for a copy of DEERE SM-2050, ''Power Steering For Two Cylinder Tractor Service Manual''.

Also post your question lower down on the page in the DEERE-specific Forum, there's a poster there from Maryland (IIRC) who specializes in parts for these units.
