JD 60 quit running

Joy riding with my JD60 the other day and it just quit running. Couldn't get it restarted. Carb has fuel and new filter installed. Ignition switch works and spark plugs are new and make spark when grounded to frame. Changed out the condenser. I cannot get this tractor to start. Am I missing something here? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Is the spark a good blue/white spark and will it jump a 1/4 inch gap or more?? If not then it is not good enough.
As for gas to the carb if you pull the drain plug out of the bottom if the carb will the flow fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes??
Filter?? As in in line if yes throw it away the sediment bowl works as good if not better.
When was the last time you checked the air cleaner and dumped the mud and water out and filled with fresh oil??
New condenser?? Now days i is a 50/50 chance a new condenser is god put the old one back in and try it

Thanks for the advice. I will recheck the plugs for the 1/4 jump. I opened the carb drain plug and gas came pouring out. I did clean out the air cleaner and put in fresh oil to the fill mark. It is cold and moist outside today (northern Michigan) and maybe that's part of the reason it won't start. Thanks again

I wonder if the distributor cap is cracked and the spark is jumping inside so it isn't firing to the correct plug when it should be?

How was it running before it quit, was it getting harder to start or maybe running alittle rough. If it just quit after running good for awhile then it seems either lack of air /fuel or a electrical failure. Troubleshoot one thing at a time, sounds like you already checked the carb, with me it is always something simple that I overlooked. Please let us know what you find out, check the gap on the points and make sure they are clean, good luck

Sounds like your coil is bad. They heat up then it just quits as if you shut it off by the switch. Then you have to wait for it to cool down before it will start.

Thanks for all the advice and tips. Even though the carb had gas, the new plugs never got wet from cranking. I sprayed starter fluid into the cylinders and after a lot of cranking she fired up and ran for about 10 mins than quit again. Wouldn't start, pumped starter fluid into the cylinders and she started again. She got up to running temp and ran pretty good and then started to stall out and did! Sooooo...my best guess now is either water in the gas or a carb kit.

I still can't get the tractor to start. All ignition/electrical components were tested and work as they should. This morning I pulled the carb cleaned every needle, nook and cranie. Reinstalled, try to start it and the plugs are dry as a bone so I'm not getting gas to the cylinders. Is there something between the carb and combustion chamber that could be blocking the fuel. Gas flows freely and the bowl is full. I don't know what else to do and I don't know any JD 2cylinder guys around here. HELP!
