JD 60 Transmission issues

Occasionaly my 60 will jump out of first gear and reverse. The transmission fluid is new and is at the corret level. Any ideas what the problem is.
 
The detent on the shift rod was wore. Fortunatly I had a junk 60that had a better rod. You might get away with changing the ball and spring. You still have to open up the top of the transmission. Get JD repair book it takes you step by step. good luck
