JD 630 Block swap.

I have a 630 with a bad crank and block. I have a JD 60 for parts. I am assuming this will work, but I was looking to swap crank, block, head, and valve train into the 630 from the 60. Can anybody think of any reason this won't work?

Vast difference between a 60 and a 630. No idea if it would fit without a lot of modifications.
Here is the best way.
I'd sell the parts for the 60 and then buy what you need for the 630 to keep it all original ! 630 are WAY more valuable than a 60 or a cobbled up 630 half breed.

Where are you located? We have tons of 2 cylinder parts and are located in Hutchinson, Mn. We have junked several 620s and probably a 630. Most 620 parts are the same as 630. We aren't very good at shipping large items. I need to work on that.

I have a good block and crankshaft for a 630. block is bore 045 over near new pistons and rings i think less than 100 hr on the rebore. crank is standard have the mains to go along call me at 605 270 1844 can ship with Fastenal

Crank is shorter stroke on the 630.

If memory serves, plugs are in the block on a 60, and in the head on 630???

It is not an easy switch, and would be a bit like Johnny Cash's Cadillac.

The used cam and followers will be just as worn as the components being replaced. have the cam re-ground and the followers re-surfaced.
Some parts from the A and 60 will crossbred and most will between a 620 to a 630.

Main bearings alone are much bigger in the 630 (4" on the clutch-side).. NO chance the 60 crank is gonna fit..
