JD 6410 valve adjustment

I have replaced the head gasket on my 6410 and now I'm getting a heavy knocking. Is this my valves needing adjustment due to the work. How do I fine tune them?
 
Was the new head gasket the same thickness as the old one? Could be valve touching pistons, but I don't really know much about a 6410.
 
If you replaced the headgasket due to coolant in the oil,there is a good chance the antifreeze has taken out a bearing.
