My Moline does the same thing. If you make a quick direction change , it'll fight you for a split second then work good. I just got used to it being that way.It really doesn’t matter which direction the wheels are pointed. It just when you are going from one direction to the other also it’s more noticeable the faster you turn the steering wheel. I am wondering if it’s pressure related or not this is the first 2cylinder Deere I’ve been around
I have a new to me 1953 70 gas the power steering has a hard spot when first starting to steer let or right once the wheels start to move they move easily.any one got any ideas on were to start looking
It fun on a curved road when a car passes I need to order the manual for it
Service manual SM 2016 is for earlier power steering systems (50, 60, 70 and mid 20 series tractors).
SM 2050 is for later tractors (mid 20 series through 30 series). However, your 70 could have been converted to the later style worm gear and actuating cams which isn't talked about in SM 2016. I'd recommend getting both books.
There are other places then Steiner.
It's really hard to explain how everything works in these systems without actually holding the parts in your hand. My guess is there's slop/uneven wear in the actuating cams that's causing your problem. It's really hard to get those cams to work right if they're not smooth.
