JD 7000 planter

I was browsing the local C/L and ran across an add for a JD 7000 conventional 4/30 planter. The pictures showed a drive mechanism at the l/h side of the tool bar that I have never seen, thinking it might pertain to the fertilizer drive?? Thanks

I sold a 7000 4RW. One potential buyer was confident if he moved the fertilizer drive/transmission to the end of the planter he could convert it to 4RNarrow. Maybe that is what you are seeing.

I looked at that and it seemed possible but the row units would end up really close to the drive wheels. I did not take a ruler to it.

I regret that I don't have the computer savvy to post a link, but it's on the South Bend INDIANA C/L. Looks like a decent unit, just WAY overpriced IMO.

This one? If I can make pictures work tonight.....)

Looks normal to me, I don?t see anything on the end?

Oops, was down a little farther. Yea, that is a modified wide 4 row, I think you need to move the wheels in, and he must have moved the fert drive to the outside as you guessed.

Yep, see how close those row units are to the drive wheel. I bet noting on the drive wheels was changed. And if you needed an extra half inch, so what. Good catch.
