JD 7200 cold starting aid problems

Have a question about the block/coolant, transmission and hydraulic pump heater on a JD 7200 that we just purchased this summer. Tractor starts good down to 20 without any aid or with just using the electric heater with the key switch, but its getting colder and tried to plug it up for the first time yesterday and not getting any of it to work…cords and outlet are good. Wiring for all three heaters come together at a “module” with a test and reset button (pretty much a ground fault interrupter I think), indicator light and one plug. When I plug it up the little light flashes once and that’s it, pressing the reset button gets the same result - the light flashes once and nothing else.

Both the test and reset buttons are very worn and hard to push – the test button won’t move in hardly at all. Do you think the module has gone bad and this is the problem, or one of the heaters has gone bad and tripping it so nothing will work? How do I test to tell if it’s a heater problem or the module/GFI needs to be replaced? A new module is $222 so just wanted to check before I replaced it.

Thanks for any help.

No I haven't yet...our local JD dealer leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the service department. We usually end up using the NH dealer but thought I would try asking here first to see if it was something simple I was missing.

Those cold start packages leave a lot to be desired. Isolate the two heaters in the back (hydraulic pump and transmission)This can be done by disconnecting them up by the module. You should be able to run the engine heater through the module. If it still trips bypass the module and connect your engine heater direct to the extension cord. The rear two heaters are the most likely to fail.Having the block heater only is your best cold start help, Bob
