Need help. Any ideas why I cannot get a pressure reading off the transfer pump. Am connected on the pump outlet. Have disassembled that pump twice, see nothing wrong.

Fuel turned on at the tank? It should leak fuel like crazy when you remove the lines if there is any fuel in the tank and the lines are flowing. Fuel travels from the tank to the transfer pump to the filters to the main pumps on top of the engine.

It will run even if it is not. I promise. I've seen 730's coming back from Mexico with the pump totally missing. They dont run good but they will start.

If the pump is assembled correctly and turning, you will have some pressure IF there is fuel present.
A 730D can be a beast to bleed at times. Just follow the Service Manual as it walks you through each bleed point and which one to begin with.
Provided there is compression (decompression lever is not hung up or set open), when fuel gets to the cylinder you will get something.

The fuel is turned on and gravity flows feely.

Do not see how we could assemble the transfer pump incorrectly. It sounds like it is turning.

Not sure about compression.

Make sure the fuel pressure adjustment is set correctly. If fuel is going through the pump, there will be pressure. Unlike air, fuel cannot be compressed.
