jd 730 taper lock

just got the tractor , was told fly wheel had a crack so allen machine taper lock flywheel was installed. The thrust was not set correctly so I have to redo it, when blocking the clutch pulley is clutch engaged or disengaged ?

Thinking about it now as long as I'm wedged against the center bolt(crankshaft) clutch end of crank engaged or not makes no difference.

The clutch should be engaged when you set your flywheel gap and tighten.
