Went to a sale today and saw this rig. Never knew they made a spray rig like this. 3 cyl. gas engine with a JD I.D. plate. Single front wheel. Decent condition sold for 1750.00 Is this a rare unit , of just not around Akron Ohio? Thanks

I'd not seen this before. Pretty nifty unit.

I'd assume that they made at least 400 (...if the serial number started at 100).

quite a number of google hits as well.

Ken,

Are you the former Canadian Ken? If so, how is the Australian adventure going?

We had one. They were designed to do 30 or 38 in rows with out changing tread width hence the 34 inch setting .The 6000 was JDs next and was greatly improved with SG cab[later], hyd. boom, and adjustable frame, plus the 219 diesel.they were basically bullet proof just only held 320gal. then came 6500 w/hydro,followed by 6700 ,then the heavy built 1000 gal.monsters of today. The 734 is not really very collectable and there was a 700 srayer before it. I have seen them sell at around $1500,The 6000 w/o cabs bring$3/5 and I just bought a mint 6000 w/cab and raven controller for $10K just to spray fence rows, diches and pastures as the big sprayers are just to clumsy and always seem to have roundup in them.
